Scout4.me ("we", "us", or "our") is a mobile application available on iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy informs you about how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.

By using Scout4.me, you agree to the terms described in this policy.

1. Information Collection and Use

For a better experience, while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to your account login information (email and password). Passwords are stored in encrypted form.

We use Firebase (by Google) for crash reporting, analytics, and infrastructure. We also use AppsFlyer for mobile attribution and marketing analytics. Some third-party services used by the app may collect information that can be used to identify you.

The app includes the following third-party services:

  • Firebase (Google) – infrastructure, analytics, crash reports
  • Google – related services via Firebase or device frameworks
  • AppsFlyer – mobile attribution, marketing analytics, and campaign performance tracking

AppsFlyer Data Collection: AppsFlyer may collect device identifiers (such as IDFA on iOS or GAID on Android), IP addresses, app usage data, install sources, and in-app events to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and understand how users discover our app. This data helps us optimize our user acquisition efforts and improve the Service.

All data collection is based on user interaction with the app and the legitimate interest of improving our Service and understanding user acquisition patterns.

2. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

While we do not use cookies explicitly in the App, third-party libraries integrated into the app (such as Firebase and AppsFlyer) may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar tracking technologies to collect usage data or improve service functionality.

Device Identifiers: AppsFlyer may use advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android) to track app installs and attribute them to marketing campaigns. You can reset or limit these identifiers through your device settings:

  • iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Request apps not to track you
  • Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalization

Refusing or limiting these tracking technologies may limit our ability to measure marketing effectiveness but will not affect core app functionality.

3. Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals for the following purposes:

  • To facilitate the Service
  • To provide the Service on our behalf
  • To perform Service-related services
  • To assist us in analyzing how the Service is used
  • To measure and optimize marketing campaign performance

These third parties may have access to your personal information, but only to perform specific tasks on our behalf. They are contractually obligated not to disclose or use your data for any other purpose.

AppsFlyer Privacy Practices: AppsFlyer processes data on our behalf as a data processor. AppsFlyer may share aggregated and anonymized attribution data with advertising networks to measure campaign performance. For more information about AppsFlyer's data practices, please review their privacy policy at: https://www.appsflyer.com/legal/privacy-policy/

AppsFlyer is certified under various privacy frameworks and complies with GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable data protection regulations.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

  • To create and maintain user accounts
  • To display websites relevant to your region (via IP-based personalization)
  • To improve functionality and performance
  • To monitor usage patterns (via Firebase)
  • To measure marketing campaign effectiveness and user acquisition (via AppsFlyer)
  • To understand how users discover and install our app
  • To optimize our marketing efforts and allocate resources effectively

Marketing Analytics: We use AppsFlyer to analyze the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and understand user acquisition sources. This helps us determine which channels bring users to our app and optimize our marketing spend. AppsFlyer may share aggregated attribution data with advertising partners to measure campaign performance, but we do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We do not use your data for targeted advertising or share your personal information with advertisers for their own marketing purposes.

5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Our legitimate interest in measuring marketing effectiveness allows us to optimize resource allocation and improve the Service.
  • Consent: Where required by law (such as for certain tracking technologies on iOS devices), we will obtain your explicit consent before processing your data. By creating an account or using the App, you consent to the processing of your data as described in this Privacy Policy.

Your Right to Object: You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests at any time. For marketing analytics, you can limit data collection by adjusting your device settings (such as enabling "Limit Ad Tracking" on iOS or opting out of personalized ads on Android).
